Immunicum’s patent portfolio consists of three different patent families, covering the core-concept, the COMBIG-concept and two CD70-concepts against cancer and viral infections. The patent portfolio consists of 2 granted patents (of which one European is validated in 11 countries) and 5 additional pending patent applications.
Core-concept Immunicum has been granted a patent in Sweden (number: SE523515) covering its core-concept. In February 2011, the European Patent Office (EPO) notified Immunicum that it accepted the claims stated in the patent application 03 730 977.0-2406 and that it intended to grant a patent on the basis of these claims. A PCT-application based on the Swedish application’s priority date has been regionalized for patent protection in the US. In 2011-11-08, the granted European patent stated above was validated in Hungary, Denmark, Spain, Slovenia, Netherlands, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, France, United Kingdom, and Italy.
COMBIG-concept In 2010, Immunicum submitted a new patent application covering its COMBIG-concept, IMPROVED COMPOSITION FOR INHIBITING TUMOR CELL PROLIFERATION, SPRO application number: 1050133-6 and USPTO-number US 61/303,153.
CD70-cancer and CD70-viral infections In 2009, Immunicum submitted a provisional patent application, METHOD FOR PROLIFERATION OF ANTIGEN-SPECIFIC T-CELLS, to the USPTO (application number: 61/255,146, covering its CD70-concept against cancer) and to the Swedish Patent and Registration Office (SPRO, application number: 0950797-1). In 2011, Immunicum submitted two new US provisional patent applications, one to cover the CD70-concept against viral infections (METHOD FOR PRIMING OF T-CELLS, application No. 61/474,892) and one to further protect the CD70-cancer concept (METHOD FOR PROLIFERATION OF ANTIGEN-SPECIFIC T-CELLS, application No. 61/474,904).
In general, Immunicum has a global patent strategy, meaning that initially a PCT-application will be applied for for subsequent applications at least in the US and in Europe.
